Volunteering

The Citizens Advice Bureau would not exist if it weren’t for the dedicated volunteers we have. Volunteers in the bureau work in a range of roles: as advisers, admin workers, IT support or committee members.

You do not need any qualifications or particular experience to become a volunteer. Of course it helps if you are a good listener, able to read information and explain it to others. We also require you to commit yourself to a certain number of hours a week.

In return, as a volunteer adviser, we provide you with full training on a range of topics, which will enable to help advise and assist people when they come into the bureau. Even once you’ve finished training, you will still receive support and guidance from staff.
